The Paw

Billy obligingly went to sleep so I could focus on his little paw.
Apparently paw pads are made largely of fat.
Looks to me like hundreds of little pads.

Since they're custom designed to withstand extremes of temperature, I'm not quite sure why some people put shoes on their dog.
Maybe they've run out of rhinestone collars:)

Oops!  Apparently I was meant to do something mineral related, and here I was thinking it was the Animal Kingdom.
Needs to pay more attention:)
