This is a typical example of a chimney from a brickworks, tile works or other fabrication shop of objects made from clay.

They are everywhere in this part of Catalonia, normally stuck as this one is in the middle of a cleared area where the buildings have gone but the chimney remains as a monument to lost industry.

This particular one is in Gerona, at the edge of a large and uncompleted development of flats ,waiting as we all are for the end of the crisis, to allow movement and mobility in the housing market.

I have been wracking my brains to think of suitable alternative usages, lighthouse springs to mind but as we are 60 km from the sea, a bit heavy on electricity. I then thought of a death slide for pensioners, to keep them amused and active, perhaps public lavatories on the top floor as Spain is sadly deficient in the provision of loos, a base station for dirigibles, heralding a new era of environmental transportation systems. Any other sensible suggestions welcome.
