Blue sky and River God

A while back I blipped the River God Tyne outside Newcastle Station.https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2373193807630962119
Today I went to find the 1968 version, which is on the wall of the Civic Centre. Impressive, although he was supposed to have water cascading over himself - that hasn’t happened for a long time.

We travelled to Newcastle this morning, hoping to avoid any snow, which we largely did. Mind you we went the A69 lower route, rather than risk the high ground of the A66. Sunny, but a bitterly cold wind in the city. A superb session on Boccaccio’s ‘Decameron’ - no, I hadn’t a clue either before this morning, I know a lot more now.

Now we are at the Malmaison down by the Quayside - a bit upmarket from our usual Premier Inn, but a bargain tonight. And we got one meal for £1 at Carluccio’s at lunchtime. Tonight we are at the Sage - Messiaen’s ‘Quartet for the End of Time’.
