Witch Hazel

The snow that yesterday threatened to engulf us did not materialise and we were left with a small covering and slush so we paid our annual visit to the Botanics to see the Witch Hazels.

I have blipped this one before, being the same variety as my own, but it appeared more vibrant today complemented by the blue spruce beyond and the bright snow underfoot.

Other Witch Hazels are also in flower but my favourite, Barnstedt Gold, has yet to reach its peak.
