Shadows or reflections?

Can't quite make up my mind......this star has been forgotten on our door into the porch and I noticed tonight that there are patterns on the ceiling from the light through the door but......are they shadows or reflections?
It's nearly the weekend again which is great ... we are meant to be collecting our new [ non company ] car tomorrow from the garage but discovered tonight we can't insure it yet as it was only registered today and the insurance companies only update their systems on the 28th of the month !
