Doctor Who fans, look away now...yes, those really are stone angels' wings for retail purchase in a home furnishings store. What do you think, Blipfoto? Could I carry them off? You'd probably cut quite a Gothic dash in 'em, but you wouldn't get much lift I'd imagine.
And talking of things plummeting through the air, I have just belatedly watched the Felix Baumgartner jump video. The moment when said daredevil steps off the capsule ramp and jumps with almost no hesitation is something I won't forget in a long time....within moments he was a tiny white dot spinning end to end....
