The ford at Shilton, Oxfordshire

Shilton is a lovely little village between Carterton ( the home of RAF Brize Norton ) and Burford in Oxfordshire. 

It's not exactly large, but it does have a ford, and there aren't that many of these kicking around any more.

It isn't a compulsory one either - if you take the other road to the left [ not shown ] - sensibly called "Bridge Street", you can go without getting your wheels wet ... 

On a different occasion, with a much higher water level than this, I almost drowned a Ford Focus .... almost !
