The Guv'ner

Went to the Traverse (Bar) for an evening billed as a tribute to Dave Swarbrick. There were several folk on the bill (including Swarb Jnr) featuring some great work by old friends John Kirkpatrick and Martin Carthy. In the photo I think he was powering in to "Prince Heathen".

Luckily the low lighting and lack of detail in the photo obscure the fact that he's still recovering from two black eyes and a shocking bruise on his chin, achieved by slipping on wet stone steps in the dark in Robin Hood's Bay about ten days ago. Having seen the damage it's amazing he didn't break his nose or knock out any teeth. And having not put out his hands to save his face he's still playing the guitar just fine!
