Trapped

tumbling temperatures
fashion birdbath faces
trapped in shallow, 
frozen places.
sharp rocky features,
of frosty, tight lipped,
icy creatures, 
gaze skyward, meek
in chilly silence, 
wishing, willing, begging
the winter sun, so weak
to set them free
