Best Man Duties 1950's Style

This is the receipt for the Smith Enfield Westminster chime 8 day clock which my parents' best man bought for them on 22nd June 1953 in High Street, Paisley. He was slightly last minute as the wedding was on 3rd July!

Such a clock was the traditional present from a best man at that time, and it cost the princely sum of £5! Nice to have the receipt still, and to pick up the clock today after its full restoration to chime capability! Mum is delighted!
