Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

Leopard!

We are so lucky! On our game drive this morning we saw this leopard. (We can go home now. We've seen "the big five". lion, leopard, elephant, rhinoceros, Cape buffalo. I'm kidding about going home- we are having TOO MUCH FUN!). Actually saw this young male twice, in different trees.
This guy was up this tree early in the morning, perhaps because there were lions nearby.

After a mid day break, we had another game drive in the safari vehicle to a different place - more open, ( like the Serengeti?) to have a glass of wine as the sun went down. Then it was a race to get out of the park ( because we stopped to view yet another lion in this open grassland-all the impalas left the vicinity!). Our driver could be a NASCAR driver the way we flew on these sandy very bumpy roads ( including going up and around a traffic jam due to some private non 4 wheel drive vehicle that was stuck, as it was getting dark!)

Tomorrow we are off - taking a ferry across the Chobe river to Zambia and drive to Livingstone airport, fly to Royal Zambezi lodge, 1 hour. This is the most remote place we will be so I'm not sure about the Internet. I did manage to upload one photo to Flickr today so I know it works - but just too slow and unreliable.

For any of you who might be following thus, ...the lions did leave the dead elephant as predicted by our guide. 24 hours after we saw it, it was covered with 100's and 100's of marabou storks (the undertaker bird) and white backed vultures! Will put on Flickr when I get a chance....

Did I mention we are having Fun!!?
