Giselle

Glasgow comedian Bill Connolly is not the kind of guy you associate with ballet but he is the patron of Ballet West, the ballet school based near Oban on the west coast of Scotland, a most unlikely setting for a ballet school.

He first came across them while filming Mrs Brown and he was so impressed with their work he agreed to become their patron.

Well, we are just back from watching them perform Giselle at the Macrobert arts centre.

Fern, age 17, and Rebecca age 18, were selling programmes in the foyer  (very pricey at £10 each) and they agreed to pose for Blipfoto.

What part did they play in the ballet? I asked.

Well, they are among the group called The Willis, ghost like figures inhabiting the forest, supernatural women, who dance men to their death.

Today is our wedding anniversary. I did not tell M the storyline.
