40 degree day

Not the best image of a blue banded bee (Amegilla spp.) I've ever taken, but on a 40 degree day, you take what you can get.

These bees aren't supposed to fly when it's hotter than 34 degrees, so she must have been hungry, or desperate, or both.  She was batting around at great speed, barely stopping for a fraction of a second, no doubt hurrying to get back to the relative cool of her burrow.

So, as I said - you take what you can get and be grateful for it.
