Hanging Tight

Venturing into the back garden in search of today's blip, it was clear that the recent high winds and rain have blown most of the colorful autumn leaves off many of our small trees and shrubs.

A quieter beauty remains, such as this duo of vine maple samaras. The fruit of the vine maple's spring flowers, each samara holds two seeds, ensuring future generations of this adaptable native plant (Acer circinatum).

The samaras reminded me of owls in flight.

A quiet image for a quiet day, as I continue to improve but am not back to my usual energetic self yet.
