Big garden birdwatch in a small garden

Where were the mistle thrush and wren that have been visiting every day for weeks? Why did they choose another garden on this day of all days? And why did the flock of long-tailed tits not swamp all my feeders today? Still I managed to record 15 species (16 if I'm allowed a low fly-over by a red kite!).
