Moss Force

LPH Day 3

The day dawned pitch dark and pouring with rain so it was decided it would be a good idea to stay indoors at Ferne Howe for a couple of hours whilst John gave a demonstration of focus stacking which was most useful.

We set off for Buttermere in clearing conditions stopping off at Moss Force where this photo was taken. Whilst above the falls we were overtaken by a huge deluge of rain together with lightning and thunder which called for a quick retreat back to the cars. Lightning and tripods can go together only too well with dire consequences.

We then traveled down to Buttermere and dodging the showers spent time photographing in the woods and around the windswept lake. Amazingly the group managed to get some superb images despite the conditions proving John Gravetts mantra that there is no such thing as bad weather only interesting lighting.
