Pride

Remember the amazing film “Pride”, in 2014, about UK gay activists who helped in the lengthy strike by the National Union of Mineworkers in 1984 ?

Mark Ashton, the charismatic young leader is commemorated by a blue plaque in Bloomsbury. This was the site of the gay bookshop where they used to have their meetings.

Blue plaques then ? It isn’t all politicians and scientists remembered in this way.

I can’t take credit for noticing this. My friend was watching this movie on Netflix very recently and she spotted it.
