Ensign Nellie Forbush

Today the film "South Pacific" was released, the leading actress was Mitzi Gaynor playing the role of Ensign Nellie Forbush. She was six years older than my mother but may also have had German blood, her proper name being Francesca Marlene de Czanyi von Gerber.



She is still alive as I write this in 2018 and naturally the LP record of the Rogers & Hammerstein musical is in my collection.
