Chives

Such a great plant/ herb - not only for its taste but also for the beautiful flowers it produces. Most of my chives have gone past for this year however this lot are still looking good. My niece brought in the chives as one of those living herb plants from the supermarket recently. The instructions said to keep the roots moist and it would last for a while. I decided to pot it up and I've been delighted with it. I saw earlier this year that for best results chives should be cut down every six weeks and this encourages growth and stops them from going woody. I might have to cut these down soon but I think I will enjoy them for a few more days before doing so.
