Westmoreland Way Part 7

Today's walk was from Troutbeck to Scout Scar near Kendal. By the finish we had walked a shade under 15 miles, climbed more than 20 stiles and got extremely muddy. Despite leaving Troutbeck at 9am sharp we arrived at Scout Scar just before head torches became necessary at around 4:45pm. It takes a long time to get 19 oldies over one stile let alone 20+ so going was slow in places. By default I seem to have become chief navigator which is normally not too onerous but the complex route across a patch work of fields, lanes and mires proved unusually tiring. The down side is that I now have a lot of cleaning to do. Weather grey and drizzly so not much in the way of views.
