Super Blue Blood Moon

Today was a super blue blood moon, the first since 1866. It was a rare combination of three common events: a super moon when the moon is closest to the earth; a blue moon when two full moons happen in a calendar month; and a blood moon is a lunar eclipse when the earth is between the sun and the moon, turning the moon a red colour. The last element wasn't as visible in the UK. G and I decided to go to take some photos at Cromer as the Photographer's Ephemeris app showed that the moon would rise over the pier. It was simply wonderful to watch it rising and it did so quite quickly. Sooooo difficult to find the right position and the right settings which was not helped by the bitter north wind. I thoroughly enjoyed having a go and am so grateful to have witnessed this event and on a reasonably clear evening. The main photo is the moon rising over the lifeboat station at the end of the pier, and I've also attached a couple of Extras as well

Tip No.16  Even on the coldest day, if you put on warm clothing, you should open wide the windows of any you are turning out. The fresh air will make the job far less tiring, and give you more pep.
