Singapore

We had a wonderful day in Singapore. In the morning we did a bus tour of the city, visiting the orchid garden, the marina, Thian Hock Keng temple and "Little India". In the afternoon we took the Metro to the Garden by the Bay to visit the Cloud Dome & the Flower Dome; we were glad to be in a dome when a massive thunderstorm began (see the first extra).

The main blip shows the Marina Bay Sands Hotel in a panorama shot - you can see the Singapore Flyer (ferris wheel) and the Supertree Grove in the distance. We couldn't do the tree-top walk as they closed it shortly before the thunderstorm so we hope to go back in the morning for that. And unfortunately the supposedly dramatic sound & light show at the Grove was cancelled "for technical reasons", but the second extra shows the trees lit up anyway.
