Looking for Breakfast

Bald eagles have become a more common sight in the Pacific Northwest over the past decade. We often see them high in the trees along the Columbia River or tributaries running into it. These large birds are easy to spot with their sharply defined black bodies and white heads and tails. 

I like this photo for the way the angle of sunlight makes the hooked beak somewhat translucent and how it highlights some of the feathers as well.
