Corstorphine Doocot

An icy, frosty cycle ride in to work. A bit interesting on some corners, but the frost had more grip than expected, but I still took it easy.

At Lunchtime, I walked towards Corstorphine. Built in the 1500s to server the now long disappeared Corstorphine Castle. Inside are over 1,000 nesting boxes used to provide eggs and meat to the inhabitants of the castle over the winter.

Also missing is the Corstorphine Sycamore, which stood nearby until it was blown down in 1998. I do remember cycling past it on a couple of occasions as Doocot Rd was on the main cycle route out of Edinburgh to South Gyle.

Nice quiet ride home after work.
