Eduardo Paolozzi - British Library

The snooze button is a dangerous thing, especially at 5am after a gig the night before. So, the taxi guy had to wait a few minutes but I made the 6.05 from Lime Street. In the event a painless trip and I managed to get out of Luton by lunchtime, so there was time to kill and I had a wander around the British Library. I’ve walked past many times but never actually been in before. I think there’s a tension between the purpose of a building designed to house books and the way in which it’s used - almost entirely by people logging onto the wifi with their laptops or iPads. But, fair enough, the internet was only just about a thing in 1997 when the building was opened.
