Dear dog

This has got to be one of my favourite pictures seen at a stately 'ome! Sadly, no name for the woof but only that he/she 'belonged to ...'. I'm not sure if Poppydog belongs to me or vice versa ...
We visited Baddesley Clinton, near Warwick, on our way south. A little gem of a moated manor house, the owners were never wealthy enough to tart it up much so many original features remain. I've added a few extras!
The place had the big advantage of being reasonably small so we had a chance of seeing it properly and still hit our arrival deadline for Sussex. OK, actually we were slightly late but that was because of the queue in the NT cafe - miserable drizzle so that was the busiest place. Now we are in a weeny barn conversion, log burner on, planning our timings for tomorrow's Big Event (cliffhanger there ...!).
