Battle of the Planets

According to Wikipedia, the original programme was an American Animation first aired in 1978. I can't say I ever saw it, but a quick delve into the record collection gathering dust in the attic uncovered this selection from around the same time with a space theme.

The central subject, The Tomita Planets, was issued in 1976, and is an arrangement of Gustave Holst's The Planets for a Moog synthesiser, which used electronics to produce a very different sound to the sampled sounds produced by computer today. The recording was subject to a courtroom Battle when Holst's wife objected to the arrangement and forced the publisher, RCA, to withdraw it from sale for a number of years - this record is one of the original recordings - if only I had the means to play it!
