Belt of Venus

Turned out to be a really nice and sunny day. We went for a nice wander into town and up to the Castle.

This is the usual view East from our bedroom showing some atmospheric physics. The pink band of light in the sky is the sun lighting up the atmosphere from below the horizon. The blue band is the Earth's shadow. The pink band is known as the Belt of Venus.
