Blackbird on Watch

Mr Blackbird sat for a one time on the fence watching all around him. Great excitement this morning my son and I we’re convinced a small bird similar to a coal tit ; (but not) landed my terrace and pecked around in the ground for a minute so. After much searching through the bird books and on line we identified it as a White Crowned Sparrow. However this is incredibly rare - last sighting in uk in 2008 in Norfolk. but my camera and phone were not handy so could only take snaps on my iPad through the French door and the quality is not good. I will be prepared tomorrow if it returns!
