This, on the other hand, is a custom-crafted private church in the owner's back garden. There is something really rather fairy-tale about this one, is it a bit gingerbread housey? I'm not sure. There is also something about it which reminds me of a rural railway station building. Perhaps rural railway stations are just that little bit gingerbready.

I like the practical touches around it; the street-level car port overlooking the church, the main house right on the doorstep, the shaded swinging daybed in the yard behind.

Locking the hens up this evening it is quite obvious that Scruffy is on the way out. We seem to be losing our boys in quick succession, but he is a very old cockerel and has served us well. I left him where he lay in the hen house with the hope that he will slip away peacefully.
