Venetian Hotel, Capitola Village

The First Wednesday of the Month Drawing and Eating Group met here this morning. This view is quite a challenge. I've photographed it many times, but I don't think I've tried to draw it before. At one point I had to go back to Perspective 101 and try to envision the whole thing as a simple box--where are the vanishing points?  Perspective always seems so straightforward and obvious until I actually try to draw something. The colors are big fun, especially in the water, and it was such a gorgeous day to be outside.
