Our last stop of the day at Geyser

... and we were treated to a glimpse of sunset through the steam of the hot springs.

Yesterday was long day for me as I'd been awake since 2am but we had such an amazing day.  Earlier we'd driven through Thingvellir National Park where the sun gave us a picture perfect landscape.  As we left the weather closed in and we drove through a white out, unfortunately we were behind a snow plough which was spewing diesel fumes though its exhaust, so we dropped back.  Cheryl final decided that we'd head only as far as Geyser, which turned out to be a really good choice and not far away from our accommodation for the night.
Dinner with the cows, who live in the barn at the end of the building - we were separated by glass windows.  They said the ice-cream was delicious - I don't eat it on a night so missed out.

Extras:  Views from the lookout platform in Thingvellir National Park.  The site of Council Meetings for the original Viking Settlers.
