Monochrome

Well, not quite monochrome in fact - there is a hint of colour on the horizon. We went walking today, five or six miles around the salt pans and mud flats near Lymington; the colour theme today was grey, mostly a dramatic, silvery grey that was difficult to capture in a photo. There were occasional splashes of orange and rust where the reed beds are turning autumnal but this picture seemed to sum up the overall impression of the day. The rain held off for most of our walk and we saw deer, flying swans and geese, egrets and many other unidentified sea birds.
