Red-breasted Merganser

I've been seeing a beautiful common loon along the Providence River as I walk into work from my car.  Today I thought I'd bring my better camera and  try and get a better shot.  While I saw the loon, I also saw a beautiful pair of Red-breasted Mergansers.  I wasn't able to get a very good shot of the female (she was hiding her head in her feather), I was able to get a pretty good shot of the male.  Beautiful bird.
