Red Light Spells Danger

there is an awkward, breathless pause, you can feel the air of expectation, anticipation, hope and fear all in those few seconds of stretched silence.

A beacon bright smile flashes on our student's face, illuminating the entire classroom to it's very corners with the knowledge of certainty...

in a clear crisp voice he declares " DANGER" and sits back down again, satisfied and secure in his righteousness,

Professor Gaye nods his head slowly, not in agreement but in the final confirmation of the last option left to him, and quietly opens the drawer concealing the pistol,
signalling the end of the "Soul singer Spelling programme" at Detroit municipal night school for the very last time.
