Between fen and mountains

On test

I have testing stands at work but this was the only place at home I could find to test this mechanism from a grandmother clock.  There were only twelve at the communion service this morning in a church that could accommodate 500 easily.  I wonder how long all the big Lincolnshire churches, built it the Middle Ages with money from the lucrative wool trade, can be maintained.  They are fine buildings, much admired but little used.  Only the big annual flower festival enables our village church to just about pay its way. I nipped out for a very quick walk in the afternoon but the wind was bitterly cold so I returned to the warmth of the fire and the rugby.
