A visit to Betancuria

After a lazy morning and early lunch we drove over the mountainous roads through the bleak and arid Fuerteventura countryside to reach the historic little village of Betancuria.
The ancient church was closed for renovations but we had seen round it on our last visit 3 years ago.
One of the extras shows the view down to the village from a viewing point on the twisting road high above. Unfortunately it was quite cloudy but the sun did its best to appear at times giving interesting patterns on the landscape.
