Villages and Blossom

After yesterday's full on day of blossom photography we took a break this morning and went to photograph some villages on the other side of the valley.  These included the highest village in Europe at some 1500 meters high.  This village is famous for its ham so we had a look around one of the shops and into the cooling space behind.  They have space for 8000 hams which are hung for two to three years - there was a lot of ham!  We were then given a taste before leaving.

From there we drove on and found a viewpoint to stop at for lunch, visited a Spanish cemetery, then drove back to the other side of the valley to find patterns and shapes in the trees.

With the weather getting increasingly windy, and with a big cloud closing in, we did a couple more locations before driving back to the hotel.  On the way back we spotted some shafts of sunlight coming down onto the valley,  and so we took some time with it (Sharon's photo - main blip).

The extras are (what I'm calling!) the armadillo hill near the end of the day, and the first view up the valley this morning to one of the villages.

As usual we gathered for the evening meal together, and had a wide ranging discussion that took in philosophy, the rules of cricket, and whether determinism is real.  Just your average conversation pieces on a photography holiday....
