Cambo piglets

We went to Cambo (an estate on the Fife coast) to see their snowdrops. It has changed quite a bit since last year; run by a charitable trust and with a new visitor centre. The snowdrops and other flowers were even better than we'd seen before. I think we must have visited at exactly the right time.

There was a small drama played out with their pigs. Two sows were separated by an electric fence. The piglets from one sow were roaming under the fence to greet the other sow, as seen here. She kept pushing them back, quite gently. Meanwhile, the only piglet of hers that we saw joined the larger group on the other side of the fence. Earlier she'd tried to push it back to her hut, and even told it off, but like any self-respecting toddler, it took no notice.

Eventually she wanted her piglet back, got too close, and upset the other sow who charged straight through the electric fence at her. Time for all the spectators to make a hasty retreat and call the staff.

My extra photo is what we'd gone to see; one of the many varieties of snowdrop.
