Sweltering and a traffic jam

Today has been another hot one getting to around 36C.  It didn't bode well when a crane had overturned on Hexham bridge blocking it and causing traffic to bypass through Williamtown and Kooragang Island.  I of course was oblivious to all this as I live closer in and had a good run in.  Someone at work took over 2.5 hours to get in on a trip that takes just over half an hour.  Going out lunch time risked being burned to a crisp and the traffic heading to the beaches after work was chockers.  By the time I got to Nobbys people were leaving.  There were lots of couples around with wineglasses, no doubt enjoying Valentines Day.

The final traffic jam was in the harbour.  I would never have thought a fully laden coal ship leaving the harbour could be brought to a complete stop but that is what happened.  A small run about boat was moored near a harbour buoy in the ships way.  I wondered why there were loud blasts of the ships horn (more than normal and prolonged).  A pilot vessel came up and no doubt there were words as the marine police arrived soon after the shot in the extra was taken.    Oh and the smoke is from a massive fire out of control near Singleton up the valley.

One for Bobs Wide Challenge which I think  (but am not sure - is hosted by Bob this week.  If not, thanks Steveng.
