Two Sides of a Ridge

Ten years ago we used to live at the foot of this ridge and often walk it in the summer. The views are special, the Muveran and Morcles peaks on one side (main photo....there is a chalet under that mound of snow) and the peaks above Leysin on the other side (extra photo). Getting to the top of the ridge in deep snow was very hard work but my knee managed it well.

(I am still excited about seeing yesterday's ptarmigans, thanks so much for all those appreciative comments etc. I know I might never see any again, they are so rare here.)
