Not a red rose

A more promising morning weather-wise meant that we made the decision to go to the International Bomber Command Centre which opened fully to the public in January. By the time we got up there it was much more grey than it had promised to be and very, very cold. We did wander amongst the name panels - memorials to 58 000 men and women serving or supporting Bomber Command - but decided to visit the exhibition another day when the site was a bit further on and we weren't behind a big group of uni students. There is a lot of work to be done on the site - not least some signage to let people know that it is open - but there is a great deal of thought behind what is there already.

A more prosaic trip to the supermarket on the way home and then we hid from the weather and there was more reading done.
