Emerald ash borer

The forester pointed out several ash trees destroyed by the emerald ash borer. Very destructible insects indeed. Notice the pile of bark around the tree trunk. There are many holes bored in the trunk of the tree also. A real shame. We are making progress with the pipeline people and plan to go home tomorrow. The weather forecast is heavy rain with flooding expected and we want to get out before that happens. The ridge road is almost impassable and another heavy rain will most likely wash it out.
