Family Day

We had an unexpected, bonus family day today. Andy had set of to go snowboarding with his Dad this morning, only to drive for 2 1/2 hours and have the mountain closed due to bad weather just as they arrived! They turned around and made their way home.

In the meantime, Joseph and I had been to the shops and spent his gift token on more building blocks. He loves building towers, but in true Joseph style he barely played with them for the rest of the day! We also did some cooking together, which we hadn’t done in ages. Joseph was great at chopping mushrooms and pulling them apart, he showed me how to crack eggs and by the time Daddy and Grandad arrived hime we had a tray of mini quiches in the oven.

This afternoon, looking for something to do out of the bad weather we went to Butterfly World. It was expensive and packed out with half term, Joseph enjoyed dropping leaves into the little waterfall, and then we went to the garden centre next door and bought a bird table. Joseph loves watching the birds and the bird table we bought Grandad for Christmas has been a big hit with him.

It has felt like a very busy day, happy valentines day! Andy gave me a brilliant Supermundane print, and I had baked him jam tarts and chocolate flapjacks for his snowboarding trip, ahhh!
