Govetts Leap

Wow, what a day the five of us have had today. We decided to take a break for the Alternative Olympics Stadium and take the “Three Amigos” to one of our most iconic Lookouts in the Blue Mountains. As you can see, we weren’t taking any chances with our precious visitors and CCN had a firm hold on their hind legs. We didn’t want a repeat of the Gitama Sunglasses affair when Gemaxphoto and one WWombat put their lives at risk to recover them :). I think the boys were absolutely blown away by what lay before them and we couldn’t have picked a better day to show them the Grose Valley and Pulpit Rock. I think any blipper who’s ever been to the Blue Mountains for a “Blip Meet” will remember the view. Oh, except Miffy and Macspics - it was a total white out the day they visited us.

In the morning we took them to visit our two wonderful friends Jim and Marg. We wanted to introduce them to show them the wonderful tapestry work that Jim does. They were very impressed to say the least when we told them that Jim who’s 90 in August always wins the tapestry section in the local Craft Show. Jim thought they would be interested in seeing a Kookaburra for the first time. (See Extra Number 2).

From there we drove down into the Megalong Valley. They loved the drive through the rain forest and were excited to know that they were allowed to have their lunch in the main section of the Megalong Tea Rooms. This is a much loved venue and happily it was quiet today and we had the entire inside area to ourselves. (See Extra Number 3).

It’s nice to be retracing our steps from most of our Blip Meets with our International Blippers when they visit. We thought it might bring back fond memories for them. We’re just hoping it will be another stunning day tomorrow when we take them into Katoomba to see the world famous “Three Sisters”. Keep your fingers crossed blippers.
