Skara Brae Buddo

The ‘Skara Brae Buddo’ is a unique 5,000-year-old human figurine 9.5cm high carved from whalebone and originally discovered at the Skara Brae village in Orkney during the excavation of the village about 1850s.  It is currently in the Stromness Museum.

Monty’s version is more recent, currently 5.5cm high and is a work-in-progress being carved from a mineral block hanging in his cage.
(Monty is our parrot.)
