It was delicious. I've been eating borscht since my first visit to Russia aged 15. That and innumerable trips to the parts of central and east Europe where it is popular, means I know my onions beetroot.

I had handmade oatcakes from

your piece

with Gruyère as well. So, Russian (or was it a Polish recipe), Scottish & Swiss for lunch.
