Inside out, Ightham Mote

Pete, John and I paid a visit to Ightham Mote this aftnoon. It was built nearly 700 years ago and was bequeathed to the National Trust in 1985 by Charles Henry Robinson, an American who had fallen in love with the building and bought it whilst on a visit here in 1953.

It is a beautiful house, as are the gardens. None of us could be described as being in any way knowledgeable on horticultural matters but we did go on the hour long garden tour and it was fascinating.

A very interesting place to visit and so many good shots to be had but I decided to go with this - the view across the courtyard, from the window of the private apartments of Charles Henry Robinson.

Back home now and nestled down with take away curry and beer.. Bliss
