Saturday morning surgery

Most GPs do " extended hours" - essentially we get some money to work outwith core hours. I tend to do Saturday am surgeries, my wife does a 7 - 8 surgery. There is a target number of hours we need to do each year.
This morning I sat down at 9 am to see 16 patients. A total of 7 turned up. Plenty time I suppose to catch up on e mail and admin but a complete waste of appointments at a time when we are all struggling to keep up with the demand and the NHS is struggling. Maybe we should start charging folk who cannot be bothered to attend.
