The dropped stitch

Today I met a Savannah cat. A most beautiful animal, and very friendly.

The weather continues to be great. Dry, being the main and most important quality. Bright and sunny too, being a bonus.

I had a day of mostly walking round the town. It makes it much easier to see house names and numbers and no hassle with parking.

Easier too, to see interesting gardens, and buildings.

This afternoon I came across a memorial near the Hatston industrial estate - in memory of those who lost their lives flying from the royal naval air station at Hatston - HMS Sparrowhawk. I have driven past it hundreds of times, but never walked before along that section of the road.

Within the industrial estate you can still see parts of runways and some wartime buildings. Over the years it has grown into a rabbit warren of business premises, workshops, stores etc with minimal signage and bizarre numbering systems. So not my favourite place when looking for addresses!
